我也认为B比E好,但有人解释是因B)one that an individual or individuals own with fewer than eight units and no commercial space前最好补出WITH,而WITH和NO在一起有没有WITHOUT好,且WITH引导状语修饰谓语位置太远.

C的最大问题在于is owned by an individual or individuals 没有主语，它本身也不是定语从句。

第三楼的说法是对的，C中is a building with fewer than eight units（be+宾语），和no commercial space（名词）,和is owned by an individual or individuals（be+宾语），不能并列

In A, having less than ... can be reflect "an individual or individuals", not logic
In B, individual or individuals own the building with fewer....with can either reflect the verb own or the building, not clear
In C, a private house is a building ... and is owned by..., then there should be a conj. to connect "eight units" and "no commercial space"
In D, there is no conj. to connect "fewer than eight units" and "no commercial space"

这里的no commercial space 可以理解为插入语吧。不需要and啊

我觉得C最大的问题是is owned by an individual 不能和 is a building 平行，而是应该进一步陈述这个builing 的属性。从而扭曲了原句的意思
