标题: og12-14 觉得OG解释不太对，请指教！
Sunspots, vortices of gas associated with strong electro-magnetic activity, are
visible as dark spots on the surface of the Sun but have never been sighted on
the Sun’s poles or equator.

说C不对的理由是：Although 后要加完整的句子。
新东方蓝书里给的答案是c

我的疑问是：逻辑主语一致的时候，Although 后主谓可以省吗？
C到底错哪儿了？？
请教各位了！！

这个题og给的解释不够准确，although后面一般是只跟句子，但有跟短语的情况。
C中although 从句是否可省略主谓不太清楚，但是这里不是省略主谓的情况，因为谓语部分只省略了助动词，所以只能理解成although后面跟的是短语，如此一来,although的修饰对象就是dark spots,与原意不符

不能这么省啊,前面的are和后面的生略的are 功能不一致，前者是系动词，后者是助动词
退一步讲，即便是那样可以，这种形势也很容意误解成短语带来修饰的歧义

选项C: appear on the surface of the Sun as dark spots although (缺少are) never sighted at, 故错误.

因为although是连词呀.注定要跟完整的句子. 但是它这个选项中只有 sighted, 这是什么? 这是过去分词(表被动),不是谓语动词呀,用被动的话:就是 are sighted, 主语其实就是文中的主语 Sunspots, 只是它省略了而已,因为是平行对称结构.

回答楼上的疑问. they 应该要指代 Sunspots. 但是这里最好直接写 sunspots 或省略, 因为用了代词 they, 既可以指代 dark spots 也可以指代 sunspots. 容易混淆.
