(D) as fast as，and
in some parts even faster than，those

(E) as fast as，and
in some parts even faster than what they did

请教这道选题的答案为什么不是E? 如果是D,按照OG的解释，those指代values,但题目本身是否应该是动作间的比较，即rise和did比较? 请各位大大侠指点！

they沒指代

是动作的比较没错，但是是主语动作的比较
因为是主谓结构，所以后面省略的了谓语
