答案给的是E，OG上有the or a 加在一个动名词前面，这个动名词就名词化了，这个题里面是不是因为用了melting of the polar ice caps 的结构，所以melting 也是名词化了，就不用在melting前面加 the or a 了呢。
GMAT里面的语法都是找相对正确的，这题我是按照排除法做的，ABC肯定不对，may 和possible重复，DE里面D不对称，所以相对而言E比较正确。这里melting感觉是现在分词作动名词，虽然不是完全对称，但是也还凑合！
