应该是分别做metabolize ,render 的宾语

还原的原句参考如下:

enzymes are the organism’s attempt to metabolize the chemical irritant , or (to) render the chemical irritant harmless

本句翻译为：

几乎每个动物种类的各类组织中,dioxin会引起酶的产生.这种酶使生物机体去新陈代谢化学刺激物或使化学刺激物变得无害.

在CD上看了很久，自己总结的：
应该是分别做metabolize ,render 的宾语
