我想请问各位，C选项后半段的do 是与原文中的哪个词平行的？如果是与nuclear fusion is...平行，那是否do就该为is？

可merging the nuclei of atoms rather than splitting them apart是修饰主句里的force的啊~

那么nuclear reactors不是应该和主句的动词is 对称吗？实在不解~

个人认为merging分词短语作伴随状语修饰powers，表示与power同时发生或具体动作。逻辑主语是nuclear fusion 。as nuclear reactors do 是强调这个merge动作的相似性。所以不是与谓语is对应。gmat语法最根本还是要从逻辑意思出发考虑。
