答案：B 没有问题大家讨论下其他四个选项有什么考点或者错误啊

我觉得这道题目首先要读懂句子的意思，才能分析句子，需要明白stimulate的动作发出者究竟是谁，那么就很明白为什么其他四个选项不对。所以我们来看一下哈：

1. there be句型，一般都是错误的，不过不是被排除的理由
2. 逗号之后用代词they，逻辑上是指代前面的provisions，但是provisions不是stimulate的动作发出者，所以不对

C. Even tiny islets can be the basis for claims to the fisheries and oil fields of large sea areas under provisions of the new maritime code, already stimulating

stimulating的动作发出者模糊，当然还有很多别的问题

D. Because even tiny islets can be the basis for claims to the fisheries and oil fields of large sea areas under provisions of the new maritime code, this has already stimulated

this 指代什么呢？无论指代什么，都是错的。

E. Because even tiny islets can be the basis for claims to the fisheries and oil fields of large sea areas under provisions of the new maritime code, which is already stimulating

乍一看，is already stimulating，现在进行时事态有问题

A中there be句型不是首选
看B的时候觉得it离指代的主语太远觉得不好
C中现在分词削弱了因果关系也不是同时发生的意思
D this指代有问题
E 句子不完整
最终锁定B

Support your ideas..

About A, "they" refer to "provisions". it does not make sense for the sentence.

About B, "it" clearly means "the new maritime code".

So, it makes more sense for the whole sentence.

B 初看时觉得it想指maritime code，这么远有点问题，不过看完其他的，也就这个最靠谱，所以选这个了。
C 为什么要用stimulating，很奇怪，暂且排除

E 一看stimulating肯定错啦

被Ron的解答迷倒了：
看完prep上的解释有几点不明白的地方，比如：
B中it指代是不是太远了，并且原句意的主语是provisions,不是maritime code，有改变句子意思之嫌
我做题时选了C，但是是错的，原因是-ing形式stimulating可以修饰之前整句，但是主语必须要一致，tiny islets 无法stimulate
D和E都可以秒杀，D中this做主语基本上在GMAT中都是错的，E选项句子没有谓语

Ron对OA B选项的解释是，在其他4个均确定为错的情况下，最佳的选项即为B，即使有瑕疵，甚至改变了主语，但是没有语法错误，这是GMAT考试的精髓啊。。。没有绝对最好，只有5个选项里相对最好

求问，C stimulating不是没有丧失作定语的功能吗？？难道就不能修饰maritime code??

同问C啊，我怎么看都觉得这里stimulating可以作为伴随状语表示结果，虽然Ron说了C选项的can be不能和already stimulating这种确定的结果连用，要和potentially这种一起用，但总还是觉得不够成为我心中排出掉C的绝对理由啊

they不是完全指代么，那么A的they应该指代 provisions of the new maritime code啊，为什么只指代provision
