我的问题是First opened in 1892, then rebuilt in 1900中间为什么不加连接词（then是副词）。

我觉得then应该是表示时间先后吧……

我没说具体，then这种时序性的词比较特殊,有连词功能，在这里就是可以看做是一个"连词"，其可以连接除了"包含谓语动词的成分之外"的并列成分(当然这个并列成分要有时序关系)。很多字典都说到了then的这个引申用法.

还有别的地方搜来的说法：

then 与and、but类似可以做连词，不同的是and 从意思上讲做的是并列连词，而but做的是转折连词。then做的是顺序连词，从时间及顺序上表示承接。因此，then可以放在句首做连词，但在这句话前面需要另有一句作为承启句，才能接then后面的句子作为转折，
比如：I help him domany excercises, then he success to pass the exam. 我帮助他做了很多练习，然后他通过了考试。
