A. far exceeds those that humans could consume

B. exceeds by far those humans can consume

C. far exceeds those humans are able to consume

D. exceed by far those able to be consumed by humans

E. far exceed those that humans could consume

请问这题为什么选E而不是A?

“exceed those” 比those还要多，那肯定不是单数。要不不就是“exceeds that”了，呵呵。

根据白勇语法由于主语为amounts of sth 所以谓语动词为复数！所以排除A B C 另外those able to， those指代amounts，所以amounts able to，不符合逻辑所以E，

另外即使amounts的主谓一致是随后的那么carsinogens也是复数也应该用复数谓语动词
