不是用which表明地球上只有十万种左右的化学污染物, 他们具有定语从举描述性质

原文意思是这十万种有定语从句描述性质的化学污染物 (是全球所有化学污染物的一个子集)

而that表示这十万种污染物中有gone virtually unregulated描述的那部分

你的理解有误

我们来举个例子 all pigs that are fat 意思是所有fat的pig （也就是不包括不fat的pig）

all pigs，which are fat 意思是所有pigs，他们都fat （所有的pig都包括在内了）

这就是限制性和非限制性的概念的区别

我一直以为都有个误区，那就是我认为that不能指代人或物的复数，现在我发现我大错特错了，一直以来都在这上面错来错去的。
