答案D。一个问题，with结构是独立主格吗？为什么这样使用是精确修饰sleeping呢？而不可以理解修饰其他呢？

比如这个题：

Alaska regularly deposits some of its profits from the sale of oil into a special fund, with the intention to sustain the state’s economy after the exhaustion of its oil reserves.

(A) fund, with the intention to sustain the state’s economy after the exhaustion of its oil reserves

白勇书上说： A里的搭配错，通常是with the intention of doing而不是with the intention to do，但改成with the intention of sustaining后，用作状语，

sustaining的逻辑主语等于句子主语 Alaska。不明白啊？怎么看状语的逻辑主语呢？

还有D，书上说 after exhausting its oil reserves作状语修饰sustain，逻辑主语等于sustain的逻辑主语也就是fund。那又是为什么呢？

反正状语的逻辑主语怎么看的啊？求救啊！！！

不是每个状语都要找逻辑主语的除了分词做状语,目的状语从句,条件状语从句,比较状语从句要找逻辑主语多数状语不需要找逻辑主语

尤其在独立主格结构中其自身是带逻辑主语的这也是为什么其被称为独立主格

fund 是用来 sustain future economy 而不是 Alaska，所以，A,B,E都错。C错在没有把oil reserve和alaska连在一起。

你这个帖子有很多问号啊，我一个一个说：

with结构是独立主格吗？为什么这样使用是精确修饰sleeping呢？而不可以理解修饰其他呢？

with介词短语做状语，表示伴随状态；这样能精确修饰是因为逻辑主语明确，不会阐释歧义，而E选项的whose主语可以理解成branch。

不明白啊？怎么看状语的逻辑主语呢？

状语的逻辑主语应该和句子的相同，除非特别指出，比如第一个题中说，with the branches's arm....

关于第二个题目，我想简单一说，这是个考代词的题目，不是考状语主语的：

A.its 指代不清楚

B.they指代不清楚

C.Correct

D.its指代不清楚

E. they指代不清楚

第一个问题,是独立主格,相当于状语,修饰它前面最近的动词,这个动词可以是多种形式,比如ing,ed,时态变化等

还在纠结这个问题啊?

在一贯推崇主动优于被动的GMAT答案中你知道为什么这题选C么?

就是因为这句里面没有出现 exhausting its oil reserves的逻辑主语所以答案用了被动形式

状语的功能就是修饰动词形容词或者副词这里时间状语修饰sustain有什么不能理解呢表示 (在...之后)维持

举个简单的例子昨晚看电视 watched tv last night 这里last night就修饰watched

还是不太明白，这里intend 是来修饰fund的吗？如果改成intending 做主语alaska的伴随状语从句是不是有问题？
