为什么呢？告诉你一个XDF的打法，见到比较类题目，优选包含that of 和those of的选项！、

这个方法好像有待商榷吧，看这个题:

The number of people flying first class on domestic flights rose sharply in 1990, doubling the increase of the previous year.

A. doubling the increase of

B. doubling that of the increase in

C. double as much as the increase of

D. twice as many as the increase in

E. twice as many as the increase of

这个题目的答案是A 不是B 啊！

A. land area 和great britain 比较，对象错误 where修饰population不对
B.补出的is 和前面的has不对应
C.改变句子中心本来是想说地方差不多大，人口差不少，C把人口的比较变成修饰成分，而把地域面积和人口组成并列了，意思改变了，仔细体会一下。
D， 4 million in population，这个表达不好，不准确，而且和C一样，改变句子重心
E.but后省略has,比较对象一致，而且后面非限制性定语从句补充说明人口。没毛病

优选that of 和those of，不是必选这些选项！
平行并列还是要看比较对象是否对等。但是大多数这种题目都是靠that of 和 those of 的

"4 million in population" is OK, but "and many" is not a parallel sentence with "Laos has...".

我觉得是D, 只有这个选项没有语法错误
E里应该是many of who吧

D changes the meaning of original sentence, as OG12 points out that the coordinating conjunction and gives undue emphasis to the claim that many of the people in Laos live in inaccessible places.
