之前的帖子对A选项的错误集中在them指代不清。但代词可以指代短语，这里them可以指代Five hundred million different species of living creatures ，这样的话，nearly 99 percent of them vanishing就是标准的独立主格。NN现身解释下

首先句意重心变了，A重在说species 出现，而E重在说species 消失，我觉得这个是最主要的错误

them我觉得只是不太好，没觉得致命，但是以现在分词出现的独立主格有点曲解原意，vanishing?怎么说也是个vanished

按照二楼分析改为，nearly 99 percent of them vanished 独立主格中表被动，them应是主动vanish，也不对啊。还是没清楚A的错误在哪

vanishing表示一个延续的概念，表示一直在vanish, 而这边主要是要表达一个已经消失的概念～

独立主格中是不是过去分词只能表被动我不确定...不过increased sale这个你肯定见过，这个就不是表被动，另外I miss the period of middle school,a happy time gone.

当然这里改成vanished我也感觉不好，只要我们都同意vanishing表达已经发生过不好就行了~

同意。句子重心被改变了。仅凭这一点，足以排除它。
用vanishing也确实不好，没有原意中“已经灭绝”的意思了。
