我选A，其他选项我觉得都不正确。。。。

反正后面3项的时态都是错的

跟大家分享下它的解释吧，白勇书里写的还是蛮清楚的。

3个考点：

1. with the intention of doing sth, intend to do sth是习惯用法，A错

2. 代词指代，B/E中的they/their只能指代前面profit, B和D错

3. 逻辑主语判断:介词+ing分词在句首，逻辑主语等于主句主语；在句尾逻辑主语可能是主句主语，也可能是所修饰动词的逻辑主语。D中after exhausing sth，在句尾作状语就近修饰sustain,逻辑主语为sustain的逻辑主语fund. the fund exhausts its oil reserves逻辑意思不合理。

所以正确答案C.
