“It is unrealistic to expect individual nations to make, independently, the sacrifices necessary to conserve energy. International leadership and worldwide cooperation are essential if we expect to protect the world’s energy resources for future generations.”

What the author claims that it is impossible for individual countries to conserve energy voluntarily by sacrifices themselves is pattern correct .In fact, beside the international leadership and world wide cooperation, which mentioned by author, energy resources have been protected by lots of individual nations, such as Japan, China, American. Whereas, more and more individual countries not only regard energy resources as fountain of money but also as target of rob. It is not easy to expect those countries to make, independently, the sacrifices to conserve energy, even by world wide cooperation and international leadership.

Big countries, such as Japan, China, American, have already made the sacrifices sine the global warm became a world wide issue. Japan, which is a small country hardly has any energy resources, maybe is the lowest energy cost nation on earth, by using recall papers, saving coal to fill the sea bed near the coast when it is cheap, using sun power and inventing new techniques. In Japan, nowadays, they even designed a sort of engine can only produce water by burning hydride gas. China and American have their own government department and social environment fund to protect energy resources. That is what we called big nations’ responsibility—to make our future better.

Some other countries, however, don’t consider the sacrifices in the same way. They regard the sacrifice as a venture, which we used to call it future beneficial. Sacrifice to conserve energy for those countries means limiting to mine the energy resources, which could cause the decline of their core income and that is unacceptable. “To live first and then noble.” Said by Laozi, a Chinese philosopher. As a nature resources export nation, sacrifice to protect energy is telling them to suicide. Nobody or nation should take the survival right away from them.

On the other hand, we should see the energy resources protection is no so sacrificial for some nations. Weapon and cash are what they consider the environmental protection. They Use the conservation as an excuse to punish energy export nations and developed nation, the nations which have to export and consume huge tons of energy to survive and to develop. Moreover they storing energy resources not for conserving but for selling, after the economic punishment cause the price rise sharply. These countries’ behavior should be banned and punished by international leader.

In sum, world wide cooperation and international leadership can not solve all problems, which occur in nation sacrifice. But, banning the unmoral behavior, sharing energy resources saving techniques and finding an appropriate way for energy resources export countries to protect environment, is what we must do for future generations.
