1. A collection of 38 poems by Phillis Wheatley, a slave, was published in the 1770’s, the first book by a Black woman and it was only the second published by an American woman.

(E) only the second published by an American woman

这句话是什么意思呢，前面我看懂了，一个人的38首诗的一个集子，1770年代出版了，后面的first book和sencond book是怎么回事？only是表示什么？弄不懂意思我都不知道为什么要选E

不用看懂，only是强限定词，位置不可随意变，原句是only the second published，即only修饰the second，保持位置不变，所以选E

如果一定要理解的话，后面的部分是A collection of 38 poems的同位语，诗集就是一本书
