Background:
We are pleased to invite applications for the position of Senior Adviser, Science and Innovation at the British Embassy, Beijing.
Main Duties:
You will be part of the leadership of the UK’s science and innovation work in China, responsible for engaging with key government stakeholders, research institutes and companies to develop mutually beneficial co-operation. You will provide policy reports and advice on Chinese science and technology developments including some work related to health, biotechnology or life sciences. You will have opportunity to work with partners to identify and develop new collaboration
projects. You will organise senior visits and facilitate workshops, and potentially have line management responsibilities.
The role involves opportunity to gain a broad range of experience in a field of high priority for the UK and China.
The post offers travel opportunities to the UK and training and development opportunities, which can be tailored to address the needs of candidates who can demonstrate their potential to meet the requirements.

We offer a competitive package including performance related bonus scheme, good leave entitlements and medical insurance plans, multi-culture environment and well-designed training and development opportunities. The Gross Salary for this position before all deductions is 14,881/month. The successful candidate will be employed under locally employed staff conditions within the British Embassy. Conditioned working hours is 35 hours/week from Monday to Friday.
