我觉得这里e的with从句修饰不清，看不出来修饰什么。。。还有d怎么错了？

D中and后面没有主语,也就是暗示主语为stinger.

stinger results...和原句意不符.

with the result that是因此的意思, 为barded and stays的结果.

我是这么理解的,但似乎还有不严密的地方,不确定对错.还请高人指点一下.

上面and 前后的is heavily barbed和stays是否有不平行对称的嫌疑呢？做题时受此困扰所以错误地排除了E。

C逗号间的部分可以做伴随状语，后面也不缺谓语。

C错误的原因应该是逻辑错误吧，和D一样

原句中试（As the honeybee’s stinger is heavily barbed, staying where it is inserted, ）整个句子的阐述的现象导致了后面的results in the act of stinging causing the bee to sustain a fatal injury因为this不能代指整个句子的意思，所以不对，正确选项E用with结构的做状语，表伴随结果

而C和D都变成了主语stinger导致了整个后面的结果，

C错误的原因应该是逻辑错误吧，和D一样

原句中试（As the honeybee’s stinger is heavily barbed, staying where it is inserted, ）整个句子的阐述的现象导致了后面的results in the act of stinging causing the bee to sustain a fatal injury因为this不能代指整个句子的意思，所以不对，正确选项E用with结构的做状语，表伴随结果

而C和D都变成了主语stinger导致了整个后面的结果，

and连接两个动作不是可以表示先后关系的吗，这里D能不能理解为stinger先stay where it is inserted然后这个stay where it is inserted的stinger造成了...

啥叫看不懂单词啥意思，应用到我身上那就是绝对的真理，我还以为barbed是个动词的被动呢，结果竟然是个形容词。。。。囧死。害得我被迫的去选了个C。。。。哎。。。。

还有一个问题哈，E中的with the result that****的这种独立主格结构是不是白勇语法书上提到过的with+n+adj，只是这里的adj变成了定语从句？

注意点：独立主格并不包括“with + n. + 定语从句”和“n. + 定语从句”的形式，这个形式做的是非限定性修饰前面名词的定语，因为这个形式就相当于n, with + n.，或者是n., n. + that概括性同位语。

这不是独立主格啊？prep语法笔记如是说。。。

B is not a complete sentence. Where are the subject and the verb? Eliminate B.

C and D each state that the stinger...results in. The STINGER itself cannot result in something; only an ACTION can result in something. Eliminate C and D.

The correct answer is E.

Note that in the OA, the phrase with the result that the act of stinging causes the bee to sustain a fatal injury serves as an adverb modifying the preceding clause.

with的用法：
1) Comma+ WITH

is always an adverbial modifier that modifies the verb or adjective or adverb preceding it.

eg:- Visitors to the park have often looked up into the leafy canopy and seen monkeys sleeping on the branches, with arms and legs hanging like socks on a clothesline.

2) without comma :- just another prep modifier.

the dog with the white tail is my fav. [with modifies the noun dog]
the dog jumped over the aisle with ease. [the act of jumping is modified].
