A中“so distant from Earth that their light has taken..." 可以做”galaxies" 的后置定语吗？要不还有其他的解释吗？

但是 "so...that..." 能做后置定语修饰名词吗？只见过它做表语啊. 恕我浅见.

可以理解为是在 "so...that..." 之前省略了 " that/which are" 吗？

如果是省了“that are”说明that在从句中作宾语，但是实际上，"that are so ..." 的结构中“that" 作了从句的主语，所以不应该是"that are"的省略结构。

求高人指点！

23 galaxies是主句的宾语，宾语的定语从句的that是可以省略的
