选项e中解释说"so much that" is an incorrect idiom,如果理解成so...(much) that 句型呢,换句话说,如果e项改为so much that even 是不是成立呢?

另外,谁能帮忙还原一下not so much as a whisper was heard from the crowd?

这句话勉强理解成so...that...也没有任何意义。

因为 so...that... that后面是要跟一个 clause的，要有完整的主谓不能随便省略一个动词carry的宾语。但是如果是as..as的比较结构的话就可以省略。

而且even和so 二个adv放在一起修饰much, 别提有多awkward了
