答案给的E，就是想不明白为什么A不对。不是说不能改变句子重心吗？如果是这样的话，那E就该不对了。而且，E中 which were不是也可以省略吗？这样看，不是选A更好吗？

A和E都没有语法错误.不过A答案里面outnumbering离它的逻辑主语太远了.不知道这样想对不对?

谢谢你的解答。但是关于12-31，我是觉得改变了句子的重心。难道在这个句子里，就是应该要改重心吗？之前做的题都是改了重心就错的呀。不明白了。

2.outnumbering离修饰语太远,容易造成歧义,让读者认为outnumbering是前句的结果.

我还是不明白，我认为就是楼上2的原因才要选A的，在那个时期里他写了那么多信这件事让他outnumber了，而且，E中which会不会有修饰
Dickinson的歧义呢？在OG里面多次提到which引导非限制性定语从句，修饰前面的N，我改正了which引导非限制定语从句可以跳跃修饰的功能，请指点迷津。

1.是给S的信在数量上超过给其他人的信,而不是这件事情在数量上超过给其他人的信.我认为ing表结果是指前句整件事为v.ing的发出者;
