对不起，我还是不很清楚，我看到前面是rose，过去时态，后面我就直接认为是用过去时态，was，难道she was a woman，这种说法是不可以的吗？用was就表示虚拟了吗？我觉得虚拟应该用were呀。谢谢！

我觉得本句的意思是说new managing editor 的提升(过去发生的事情)比她是女性这一事实更有意义.

如果 new managing editor 还在世,用she is a woman当然比she was 好了,本题中并没有说 new managing editor 是历史人物,同时,大家会不会觉得,she was woman,表明she may not be a woman now.or she is not a woman now.

仅同意第一句，new editor是女人，这是客观事实，任何时候都是she is a woman. 即使她嗝屁了，也还应该是is。除非她是变性的，曾经是个女的。

各位大侠,这和虚拟语气没有关系吧.未划线部分就是用的一般现在时啊 is more of. 显然是That...is more...than...that...she is...
