The proliferation of so-called cybersquatters, people who register the Internet domain names of high-profile companies in hopes of reselling the rights to those names for a profit, led to passing the Anti-Cybersquatting Consumer Protection Act in 1999, allowing companies to seek up to $100,000 in damages against those who register domain names with the sole intent of selling them later.

(A) passing the Anti-Cybersquatting Consumer Protection Act in 1999, allowing companies to seek up to $100,000 in damages against those who register domain names with the sole intent of selling

(B) the passage of the Anti-Cybersquatting Consumer Protection Act in 1999, which allows companies to seek up to $100,000 in damages against those who register domain names with the sole intent that they will sell

(C) the passage in 1999 of the Anti-Cybersquatting Consumer Protection Act, which allows companies to seek up to $100,000 in damages against those who register domain names with the sole intent of selling

(D) the Anti-Cybersquatting Consumer Protection Act, which was passed in 1999, and it allows companies to seek up to $100,000 in damages against those who register domain names with the sole intent to sell
(E) the Anti-Cybersquatting Consumer Protection Act, passed in 1999 and allowing companies to seek up to $100,000 in damages against those who register domain names with the sole intent of selling

上面说intent的用法应该是:with (the) intent to do sth. 而不是with (the) intent of doing sth.

我到网上查了用法,也是只有wih the intent to do sth,而不是with the intent of doing sth.

GWD7-Q3:   修飾語誤置, 麻煩字(with the intent to V)

The state has proposed new rules that would set minimum staffing levels for nurses, rules intended to ensure that at least one nurse is assigned for every four patients put through triage [C1] in a hospital emergency room.

  1. rules intended to ensure that at least one nurse is assigned for every four patients put through triage in a hospital emergency room

  2. rules with the intent of ensuring one nurse at least to be assigned for every four patients to be put through triage in a hospital emergency room[C2]

  3. rules intending to ensure at least one nurse is assigned for every four patients in a hospital emergency room put through triage[C3]

  4. with the intent of ensuring that at least one nurse should be assigned for every four patients in a hospital emergency room that are put through triage[C4]

  5. and this is intended to ensure one nurse at least to be assigned for every four patients put through triage in a hospital emergency room[C5]

[C1]the method of deciding who receives medical treatment first, according to how seriously someone is injured

[C2]正確用法:with the intent (to do something). At least 要放在nurse前面修飾他, 用太多to be的被動.

[C3]put through triage要修飾patients不是room. [C3] Ensure that.

[C4]正確用法:with the intent (to do something). put through triage要修飾patients不是room. [C4]

[C5]This has no clear referent. Passive-voice should be avoided.

P1#69的with the intent of doing something表示ETS是接受with the intent of doing something
Longman上只有with intent to do something.
