答案为D 不理解,如果D 对的话,那么E 错在哪里呢?动词不是比抽象名词更加好么?

動詞有自己的名詞型態時請盡量用名詞型態

動名詞有動作(比方說鳥展翅而飛）的含意, 但在這個句子想說明的是Mary 的成就, 因此名詞比較恰當.

同意楼上的。

XDF老师说过，动词有自己的名词时就不用动名词,比如:transmit--transmission,不用transmitting

这里也是一样的。

我认为in addition to 在句首暗示逻辑主语是后面句子主语，同时也引起对称（her work与Leakey's contributions）。另外，E项end连接的discoverying 动词和painstaking documentation 名词不对称。

是对称结构的问题~~~~and前后形式对称~~~
