不选C，因为
1. in order to 比to wordy
2. 更重要的是in order to ...不可以做主语

是滴， it 是明确指代前文出现的对象，而不是一个泛指的概念。而且这里 it 无指代对象。

应该是to stalk and (to) get的并列吧，这里应该是省略了，有一些词组在并列的时候可以省略介词，曼哈顿上有吧。。。期待NN补充

Caribou在这句话里是复数, 所以stalk或kill后跟it都不对. 这样排除A, D, E.
C的so后面需要跟一个完整的CLAUSE, 但后面的这个CLAUSE没有主语, in order to也不是主语.
而B的to stalk them over the treeless landscape and (to) get close enough to kill one with nothing but a handheld lance是主语. 不定式作主语用法正确, 而且to虽然保留可能更清晰, 但省略也没问题.
