做的是engineer非主流的冬冬, 不是IT, EE,之类. job market and candidates都不大.

A friend of mine has a similar situation, and he chose to go. He wants to switch career as he said the hard skills learnt from engineering are not durable. He'll always lose out to the newer, fresher and smarter graduates in the field of software engineering. I'm not an engineer so it's hard to understand what he meant. USD150K shouldn't be a problem if your profile fits with a "typical" MBA student. That's not high at all but you have more flexibility in terms of choosing jobs and locations. Hope it helps

Thanks a lot for all the comments. I will probably go as well.

Not sure about non-executive part-time MBAs. From my in-class experience (sadly), executive MBA attendees play with blackberry and answer phone calls all the time (This surprised me because some exerted the effort of flying to the city to come to class!). They make comments for the sake of making comments. Professors had to entertain them by avoiding the hard/technical stuff, because the schools rely on executive programs for revenues. Students were not motivated to learn because their companies pay their tuition, they are tired from work and the flight, and to be frank, they don't need the knowledge. It'll frustrate you if you're there for the knowledge...

BUT - If you don't mind the delays of O'hare or JFK every week, and can find productive use of your flight times, by all means

I am on the same boat...I decided to go for part-time MBA. It costs $90K,more than full time. Although I have got the offer, I am really still debating. Many people question the value of part-time MBA even if it is the same degree. I think it depends on what you can get out of it. Good luck!

LS is right - if you're planning to further your current career, part-time / EMBAs are okay. Cost is much lower and you get to keep your job

On the other hand, if you're planning to do a multi-dimensional career change (industry, function AND location), it's tough as a part-time student as part-time degrees are in general less highly regarded
