695.The average weekly wage nearly doubled in the 1970’s, rising from $114 to $220, yet the average worker ended the decade with a decrease in what their pay may buy.
(A) with a decrease in what their pay may buy
(B) with what was a decrease in what they were able to buy
(C) having decreased that which they could buy
(D) decreasing in purchasing power
(E) with a decrease in purchasing power -----（E）

ABC 因代词指代问题排除。同时having done不能做后置定语修饰名词。

不过对于D和E仍有疑问。不太明白Avantasia NN所解释的。还麻烦明白的朋友帮忙解释下。谢谢。

没有看OG的解释, ABC的代词有问题, 排除; decreasing是个分词做为后置定语, 但是句意要求这里出现一个可以作为状语的结构, 只能是with才有这个功能了, 虽然可能有歧义, 但毕竟没有更好的选择了.

我想他的意思是，购买力的下降是作为ended the decade的原因出现的，而不是说，ended了一个购买力下降的decade。

其实我觉得d不只是不合适，是根本不能这样表达，decade是一个时间段，如果用decreasing in purchasing power 作后置定语修饰的话，就成了decade是发出increase这个动作的主体了，显然是不符合逻辑的。应该是in which purchasing power decreased。

还想弱问下。那ended the decade 可不可以理解成为一个时间状语呢？那这样decreasing是不是应该修饰worker呢？

ended the decade是后面这个句子的谓语和宾语，不能是状语呀。而且，decreasing也不是worker发出的动作。

这句话Mm说的是不是有点问题啊。大全注释：“D misrepresents the intended meaning by saying that at the end of the decade, the average worker—not the money—was decreasing in purchasing power. ” 所以decreasing 的发出者应该是worker。而不是decade。这是咋回事儿类？decreasing到底是修饰的谁啊？

主语是 Average worker？ AW decreasing。。这样是不合理的；
