答案选D，我认同，可是A有什么错呢，its若按语法来讲可能是跟australian embryologists平行的，可它不可能指复数呀，那不也对吗？难道不能那么想吗？我不明白有点~~

A.that suggests that 两个that 累赘，
, and and 前的逗号必须去掉，因为都是suggest 的宾语从句，如果加逗号必须改为and that its trunk originally evolved as a kind of snorkel. 但这样又显得累赘。
所以run-on规则在D中也不是死板的，需灵活运用。

首先这个题选E,lz把答案搞错；呃。

A不好在把 its trunk originally evolved和主句并列，你体会一下，都是是科学家的发现，不应该出来和主句并列。改成that its trunk originally evolved好一点。

另外 is descended from也是固定用法。

descend from 主动表示从...下来；而不是继承自...的意思。

首先，这儿others本身就可以指代species，所以E完全是可以的，而D，those of显得相当累赘，同时，assist in 是固定搭配阿，最重要的是意思，D中是协助flies去taste碳水化合物，而原句意思是用那些品尝了碳水化合物的flies去区分～～～～
