这题答案是Ｃ，但好象placing, tossing, and letting不应该是并列关系而是先后，再说了不LETTING好像也不对吧，我选A。

是並列, 並列其中一個常用的工能就是表sequence of events:
- event #1: placing the dirty laundry
- event #2: tossing it overboard
- event #3: letting the ship drag the bag for hours
