个人认为ideological positions of the candidates就是指按candidates的意识形态给他们定位，如左派，右派，保守派，改革派等。不知对不对请指正。

文意是在其他的条件没有什么变化的条件下，人均的可自由支配收入的增长和投票率增长有关～！

归纳的结论Ｅ就是，竞选的结果很大的程度上取决于其他的因素，而不是竞选人的意识形态（各个党派）．

Ｅ就是在说不是因为你是保守党或是亲民党我就选你，关键看你能不能提高老百姓的生活水平！！

7楼对这句话的理解是：归纳的结论Ｅ就是，竞选的结果很大的程度上取决于其他的因素，而不是竞选人的意识形态（各个党派）．

我的理解是：竞选的结果除了受竞选人的意识形态（各个党派）影响外，还在很大的程度上取决于其他的因素。other than意思是除了....还，相当于besides,表示除了后者之外的同类事物。

因为文中的证据表明，选举结果还受可支配收入影响，所以答案为E

从A看到E，E和我预想的句式差不多（other than），即他因削弱。另外我一看到substantial这个词，我就选了E。我觉得这一题参考意义不大，不像ETS出题的风格。
