这个选项是正确选项，我想问一下此处关于逗号的作用

第一个逗号是不是因为在平行结构中前面的结构复杂，所以在连词or前加了逗号

第二个逗号我不太理解，是不是the chemical irritant 是 metabolize和render的共同宾语，加逗号是因为the chemical irritant 前有个the,无法与前面的render harmless连接呢？

我的理解

事实上在每种生物的器官中，d刺激了在组织中的e去新陈代谢、或代表无害的产生，一种化学成分刺激物。

the chemical 是d的同位语，修饰d
