Each of the Economic Merit Prize winners from the past 25 years is covered by the Acme retirement plan. Since the winners of the nations's most prestigious award for economists have thus clearly recognized that the Acme plan offers them a financially secure future, it is probably a good plan for anyone with retirement needs similar to theirs.

the advertisment's argumentation is most vulnerable to criticism on which one of the following grounds?

the correct answer is D: It takes for granted that some winners of the Economic Merit Prize have deliberately selected the Acme retirement plan, rather than having had it chosen for them by their employers.

I do not see any relation between being a good plan and whether or not the plan is chosen by these winners themselves, so I do not understand why D is right.

conclusion: economists CHOSE plan because they think it's the best for them

implied assumption: the economists CHOSE the plans

Answer:  this argument takes for granted that the economists CHOSE their plans, in other words, they might have been FORCED to be covered by this retirement plan.
( And if that's the case, then the argument is flawed.)
