1. model  suggests that executives examine sth. and ,  插入,decide sth.

2. D改变重心了

  1. A好像in using 句子不对， B 改变了原句的中心，C decide前没有and，就是decide修饰analyses，逻辑关系不通， D using 修饰 decide这句， E 原本中心词是set of...,结果变成了use, 使得与后面decide逻辑关系衔接不上

正确句子的结构是：..model...suggests that executives examine...and...decide...(using)

2 D 我觉得 首先their指代不清,因为前面有manufactors 和cars...； 其次make sth adj 不能改成 make adj sth相当于make 后面的双宾语结构没说完...

The structure of Q1 is: model suggests that.

                                                               that= executives examine sth. and (?) decide on sth.

                                                                          ?=a parenthesis

In their use or in using are wrong phares while in the use and using are correct ones, so A, C and E can be eliminated.

In Choice B, that=executives examine sth., and they use sth. in doing sth.
 

Since they equals to exectives, we should elide the underlineing parts.

Q2: Small cars that are more fuel-efficient  means small cars which burn up less fuel.

More fuel-efficient small cars means more cars which are fuel-efficient and small.

C and D are wrong.

Moreover, since their/they can substitute either manufacturers or cars, A and B can be eliminated.
