题意应该是：通过发明这种设备，可以利用设备的optical sensors and microprocessors 将草与其他植物（crop plants）区分开来，区分依据shade of color。通过机器自动除草的同时不会伤到其他植物，从而降低人工，提高效率。满足这样的结论，需要这样的假设：植物的颜色与草的颜色有明显的区分度。

A选项指出不同的草有不同的颜色，但这里没有提到植物。如果说植物的颜色跟草的颜色一样，那同样会被除掉，这样的结果显然无法使得计划实施。

B选项指出，通过基因配置，在不改变任何植物（plants of virtually any species）其他特性的情况下，使得植物可以有明显的 distinctive shade of color ，这样便和草区分开来。一旦有区分度，机器就可以自动工作，从而降低人工。
