这里keep和avoid后面一定要加it，以免歧义，chalice被埋起来到底是防止it（指代chalice）被偷走，还是防止别的东西被偷走。举两个例子吧。

She was set free to keep from crying. 这个句子就有歧义，到底是为了阻止谁哭泣。

She was set free to keep her baby from crying. 这个就很清晰了。

补充一下，OG里说C中this suggests the chalice acts to prevent its own theft，是指avoid作为及物动词，表示主语自己去避免。比如说，I get up early to keep from arriving at school too late.这里keep from的施动者就是主语i，但是上面的例子里，是chalice要防止被偷。
