为什么不用 and 连接呢？ First opened in 1892, and then rebuilt in 1900,

求教并列修饰的规则？

我也有同样的问题,另外，我觉得双状语修饰，置于句首，十分awkward。

then可以做连词.

不是规定then不可以作连词吗？GMAT里如果 then连接两个句子必须改为and then? 尽管这里不是连接的两个句子
还请版主多加指点

我没说具体，then这种时序性的词比较特殊,有连词功能，在这里就是可以看做是一个"连词"，其可以连接除了"包含谓语动词的成分之外"的并列成分(当然这个并列成分要有时序关系)。很多字典都说到了then的这个引申用法.

其实我想问，可不可以把then那部分分词当做插入语补充说明来看？
