这个句子并不是NOT ONLY...BUT ALSO 的句型.B是迷惑项.句子的主语是The systematic clearing of forests. 句子的意思是The systematic clearing of forests的积极影响有....和....,但是它还有不好的影响是.....,句子有转折的意义.所以要用BUT连接.选D对的.从整个句的逻辑意思理解做题,而不是根据固定结构.

句子结构

The systematic clearing…created…and gave…, but it also caused…and deforested…

A. not only 位于句首时，所引导的句子要用倒装，give和create是and连接的两个并列成分，而时态已经被did提前，只能用原形。所以这里gave错。But it also没有错。例见大全354.

B. Which定语从句修饰farmland，逻辑意义错误，是systematic clearing给了consumers houses and furniture，不是farmland。

C. But also之前无谓语，片段。

D. 正确。But it also,转折前后句，说明systematic clearing既带来了好东西，也带了坏东西，also的使用，精妙。

E. Giving修饰created,改变了原来的句意：并列的两个动作。Not only…but…可以，但不如not only…but also…优。例见大全189、241.

按照2楼的网址上讲的，but also中间是可以插入的，那么A应该没有问题啊？

C中缺少谓语

只剩下D
