在不知道正确答案的情况下，我个人的判断是：
unlike the Native Americans of placeA, placeB,and placeC, those of placeD lived in relatively small, autonomous villages.

those = the Native Americans

所以我选C。

请教一下dissimilar to 和 unlike 的区别

dissimilar to没有unlike简洁，而且意思不完全一样。一般有like/unlike的时候，similar/dissimilar to很少成为正确选项。

看对比成分前面indian和后面those对比，前再加those那他指9代就不明了必须选c
