that沒指代...如果指代one genetic composition, 那others指代individuals...好像反了

Why not A?

把这句话完全还原: As CD observed, natural selection operates whenever individuals of one genetic compostion are better at reproducing than individuals of another genetic composition are.

因为这个better than的比较是在状语从句whenever...里面的，所以比较的两个对象也跑不出whenever这个范围。that如果指代natural selection的话意思错误。

对比的是个体之间，而不是一个个体和除此之外的其他部分，所以用 another
individuals of 和 those of 对称，因此要用复数
选 D

natural selection operates whenever individuals of one genetic composition are better at reproducing than that of others怎么会有两个谓语？到底是natural selection operates whenever individuals of one genetic composition还是natural selection are better at reproducing?我理解的是后者。若是这样的话，再若是those指代individuals的话，那么individuals怎么能与reproducing比较？请各位NN解答下。PS:若是前者的话后面的are better at...不就是没用的么？因为前面已经构成了一个完整的句子。

这题的关键是看到 individuals，也就是说是一堆"有这个基因组成"的人与另一堆“有那个基因组成”的人比

即人群之间的对比
那么除了D，其他都是与单数的东西在比，完全不靠谱

这里是比较individuals of 一组与 indivuduals of 另一组，所以要用复数those
再者the other指两者直接，another指三者之间
