这题的答案是B。而我选的是D。 看了前人的解释主要是如下： 有人认为：B和D的区别在于逻辑主语的不同，实际上是考主谓搭配的逻辑性，也就是说restore这个动作是谁来实施的，显然是persuading people的动名词结构。 还有人认为：persuading people - same logic subject with the sentence before "One/The theory persuading people..." (D)of people - different logic subject " the persuasion ..."

先讨论B: 1.动名词做主语可以不与特定的动作执行着联系在一起。所以persuading people to do sth直接做主语是可以的。 如：Crossing the Atlantic by plane takes only a few hours nowadays. 2.当然，动名词可以带自己的主语：Her going there won't do any harm. 所以，B肯定是没问题的。
讨论D: 实际上，persuasion of people to eat sth.=people's persuasion to eat sth., 1.这不是一个惯用法。 to eat sth成了persuasion的定语， 2.即使这种用法成立，to eat sth这个不定式找不到主语，句子的意思变的含糊了。 D改为persuasion for people to eat sth.或许语法上不错，但是persuading people to eat sth.更简洁和惯用。

谢谢fern和tianwan的回答，我在读了N多遍D后，给我的感觉是：明显的D的含义没有B清楚。persuading people to eat 很清楚明白的说明是persuade的是people去eat，没有任何歧义。而在D中如果是如tianwan所说的people's persuasion to eat sth.的话，肯定是不对的，意思明显有歧义：是people去persuade别人而不是别人来persuade人们啦！而persuasion of people to eat sth.还是给我的感觉是象我开头说的那样有歧义，这也是tianwan所说的to eat sth这个不定式找不到主语,句子的意思变的含糊了!persuading people to eat 因此是最清楚的！
