D: "average of xxx to xxx" is awkward. idiom is "an average of..."

这道题我也选错了，我也选了D，我感觉应该是语意的问题吧

A选项用的就是and 而D选项用的是to

and是一种并列的描述，而to则有了一个方向性

个人理解……

可能有平行结构方面的问题by and by.... 而且注意E选项和原文意思不一样。原文有两个less,在E中均去掉了，不知道是原文逻辑意思不合理还是less用法不合理

这题不是 lag behind 与less 重复，而是 by 和less 重复， by 有以。。。。之差的意思。

我在PREP的笔记上看到说 lag behind和less重复哎

lag behind类似surpass，暗含比较如果再加入less就多余了

E结构很清晰

之前都没有注意到lag behind与less重复的问题，非常感谢大家~~

PS：D中average to确实是错在语义上，因为原句是在比较两个不同的时间段的一般教师与教师的区别，两者之间没有相关性，所以最好的结构是两个平行的部分，然后用and连接~
