Twenty years ago, on my graduation from law school, <I would have liked to have had the chance> to join the partnership, but the substantial investment required would have made such a move impossible.

a) ..

b) I would like to have the chance

c) I like to have the chance

d) I will like to have had the chance

e) I would like to have had the chance

书上给出的答案是a

我的理解是如果用虚拟语气的话，写成I would have liked to have the chance就好了，原题里面为什么要写成have had 他和chance？这个做什么解释呢？

我猜想是不是必须两个都用过去时才能体现出like和have the chance都发生在过去，

因为如果would have liked to do，只能说明当时本想做，但不能说明现在已经没有那个机会了.

而would have liked to have had the chance说明了当时想做，而截止当时那个机会是存在的，现在这个机会已经没有了。
