(E) whether the flood was gradual or it created a cataclysm

debate about 不对吗？？or后面为什么不能加其他东西？

debate about sth没错，但是这里用得是wether引导的宾语从句

系表结构 （flood was gradual） 和动宾结构created a cataclysm是不能并列的 排除abe，debate的用法我也不清楚

debate作动词一般及物，常用debate whether/名词，作名词一般加over/about。

这里是做动词所以就直接加whether
注释上是这么写的...
