这题前后两个句子缺少连词, 所以锁定了C,D,我不幸选了D,请问except for 和except in用法究竟有什么区别?还有except和excepting又有什么区别?

OG11的review里有提到excepting多用于否定意义的句子,有一个说法是要跟在not, only, always, without或者其他程度绝对化的词如all后面。
但是我觉得这个分法太细致。事实上这道题目看(in the domains of) administration and teaching这个搭配更容易辨别出来。
