这道题B和C中,B的who定语从句修饰和C的born分词修饰有什么区别呢?
还有,前面说的是women和men,那么从句和分词修饰的时候为什么不会造成歧义只修饰women或men,而是修饰women和men呢?

B从语法上看应该没错，但没有C简练。A的时态有问题。D中需要用who引导修饰人的定语从句，而且by the time they...变成修饰birds而改变句意。E中时间状语位置不好。

对，后来我看出来B用reach是错了,by the time...old应该是已经过去的事情了.
但是答案C后面修饰怎么解释呢?

限定修饰women
who are born in the country
非限定定语从句，只那些出生在country的man和women
还有时态问题用一般现在

b和c的区别就在于b用的非限制性定从，c用的后置定语修饰men and women,就相当于是 men and women who were born...是限制性定从
非限制性定从在翻译上是可要，可不要，在这里显然翻译成在这个国家出生的多少男的和多少女的...比较好
还有从忠于原意a的角度，选c好
浅见，请指点

新东方老师讲过adj+n+and+n那么adj同时修饰两者，否则就是n+and+adj+n
这里同理，若that定语从句只修饰女人，就应该把女人放到and前面，c项就已经证明了是修饰两者。没有任何歧义。
而b项，非限定性定从修饰整体改变原意。再加上reach时态错误，万劫不复，万恶不赦。。。。

159我选了D 原因是they 的指代。我觉得they 放在句首很容易让人理解成，是这些男男女女门成年后，而提议应该说是这种鸟，事态确实是个问题，不过C这个语序是不是囧了点...

此题考点应该是两个：
1、they的指代从句意上理解成men and women才解释得通，而不是指birds；排除D， "by the time they reach adulthood"紧跟在”by the birds”之后，指代有歧义
2、时态。两个动作，“达到成年”和“被鸟袭击”从句意理解应该是“直到成年前百分之多少的男人女人都被鸟袭击过”，因此“被鸟袭击”发生在“达到成年”前，从时态上要比后者更退后一步；排除AB
E选项，“98 percent of men and 75 percent of women who were born in the country, by the time they reached adulthood had been attacked by the birds”，就算不考虑who were的限定性问题和是否简洁问题，有个明显的逗号用法错误：从句主语“men and women”和从句谓语动词“had been attacked”之间用了逗号割断，明显的错误。
