想问下MBA读完,什么方向比较容易留在美国工作呢?公司内部的公司金融的分析有机会吗?
Corporate finance is a great opportunity for Chinese, since we are good at numbers and logic thinking.
I graduated in 2005 and 90% of my Chinese colleague students got at least one offer in U.S.
recent 2-3 years less than 10% chance....
Just bad timing.
I've visited some schools. Most Chinese students are saying no job for them, and may have to return to China with low salary.
if you've already got a work permit, green card or citizen, then you don't have to worry.
But I guess you asked because you don't have these.
I have the L2 visa, which can permit me to work in US. I am thinking about applying a degree that can help me stay in US and also can have the transferrable knowledge in China.
I have four years experience in IT. Could anyone give me a suggestion on which degree to apply, MBA, MIS, accounting, or any other degree?

I do not agree with you on the above topic.
IT bubble burst started around 2001 and ended in 2003 or so, and the impact on job placement was already very significant:
take the Yale SOM, a very good program, as an example:
the percentage of students who had job by graudation was less 50% for the class of 03
always remember, the number is for all students. This does suggest that for a Chinese student without working permit, the chance
was far less than 50%.
If you plan to work in the U.S. after graduatioin, my suggestions would be:
1. only apply top 20 program
2. have a backup plan
If L2, the best visa status, you don't have to worry, as long as L1 is in USA.
L2 can work, study , change jobs, do whatever! even better than H1b or L1, because you can change jobs if you want, while L1 or H1 have to stick on their jobs for their visa.
But if L1 left, L2 has to leave too! so it all depends on your L1 husband.
So far the situation in the States is really bad
almost all openings are frozen now
unless people already have working VISA or green card
companies don't even want to hire interns who cannot work full-time in the States
language can be a big barrier
but the ultimate driver is still your competency on your own specialization
and how to contribute on the economy in the America
