GMAT是比较不喜欢被动的,认为被动会使动作发出者不明确而造成歧义。

我觉得这题还是出在逻辑意思上, he is extremely modest and his poetry is unpublished.两件事是同时发生的。但是从逻辑意思上来说,他应该先谦虚,后不出版他的书籍。所以表达上把后半句的时态改为将来时更好一些。所以就有了C, he is extremely modest and with his poetry remaining unpublished.他是非常谦虚的人,不会出版诗集。

In my opinion, if you choose A, you choose to speak of 2 things that do not seem to correlate with each other.
