标题: 虚拟语气的问题，请大家帮忙！！！
If the new airboat does what it is to be doing-----travel
at high speeds undeterred by sandbars crocodile-infested mudflats, or
marshy hippo haunts---it could revolutionize transport on the
2,900-mile-long Congo River.
A. If the new airboat does what it is to be doing
B. If the new airboat does what it is supposed to do
C. If it does as the new airboat is supposed to do
D. Doing what it is the new airboat is supposed to do
E. Doing what the new airboat is to be doing

下划线是红色部分，答案是B。我对别的选项到是没有疑问，但是对于正确答案B有问题要请教大家。
关于虚拟语气一直不懂，B选项为什么不用虚拟呢？对现在的虚拟？因为文章后面it could
revolutionize transport on the 2,900-mile-long Congo River，这个could
不也是虚拟语气的标志吗？那B这么对吗？为什么不是 if the new airboat did what it was supposed to
do？
这个不是虚拟语气的正确的表达形式吗？请大家帮助我，太感谢大家了！！！

条件句分两种,一种是可以实现的真实条件,一种是不能实现的虚拟条件

从题目的意思来看讲的是物A时间什么事情的条件,是可以实现的真实条件,这种情况下,从句用一般现在时,主句用will/shall/could....

就好象中学学的那个例子: if it doesn't rain tomorrw, we will go to the zoo.

谢谢你的回答，不过后面的could不是不现实的虚拟条件的标志吗？这个怎么解释呢？

我记得could 和can 等价，是这样么？

if引导的是条件状语,所以用现在时;后面半句是还没有实现的状况,所以用比句早一级的时态,也就是过去时.

WHAT从句作前句的宾语,所以时态与句中谓语一样.
