eg. Nylon differs from silk in origin and cost
He differed with his brother about a political question

762， i have the same question. i think D is better than E. at least it sounds ok, 'times, which was determined ... and differed ..." but in E, can't understand what's 'differing' is for.

780, you cannot use 'they' here as there are 'children', 'mistakes' and 'linguists'.

既然determine用被动,differ用主动,那为什么不选B呢?

实在不明白为什么要用differing.

因为B的助动词是Was,应该是Were. times是复数

times为什么是复数？time只有在表示时代或时期时才是复数形式；表示时间时，是单数形式不可数啊。

B明显主谓不一致咯，应该用复数。E应该是表伴随修饰吧，以前OG有例子是－ed与－ing并列的。这是要看本质不能光看形式。（NN话转述）

应该是determined by和differing是平行关系，修饰local times，这个句子好难看出来啊
