1.The Vickers-Armstrong Company's A-10 tank of 1934, with its driver's compartment in the front, turret in the center, and engine in the rear, introduced what is becoming tank's dominant design form for the rest of the twentieth century.
A)what is becoming tank's dominant design form
B)what became their dominant design form
C)what became the dominant design form of tanks
  D)its dominant design form
E)the tank's dominant design form, becoming so [/face]
答案:C
为什么不是D,是因为意思改变了吗?

2.[face=Arial]A recent study showed that the constant roar of jet aircraft could be a serious impact to the psychological well-being of children living near airports and sharply increase their possibility to have high blood pressure.

  C) seriously impact the psychological well-being of children living near airports and sharply increase their possibility of having
D)have a serious impact on the psychological well-being of children living near airports and sharply increase their possibility to have
  E) have a serious impact on the psychological well-being of children living near airports and sharply increase their possibility of having [/face]

为什么不是C,通常动词比较好的,难道是固定搭配问题?

C)description of her goals, whose emotional language
D)description of her goals, which have emotional language

我本来选C,C的错是不是因为whose无指代对象,而her是不能作为whose的指代对象的?

  B)before in the professional ranks
C)before they do it in the professional ranks
D)before they play in the professional ranks

C)With the ethnic diversity of its population being taken into consideration

2, impact, as  noun, means influence.  eg. have an impact on
impact as verb, means impinge . They are different meaning.

B)what became their dominant design form
C)what became the dominant design form of tanks
  D)its dominant design form
E)the tank's dominant design form, becoming so [/face]
答案:C
为什么不是D,是因为意思改变了吗?

The answer should be C.
Because here, in D,  "its" referes to the A-10 tank, and the sentence that the tank was introduced its dominant design form is illogical. Good luck!

1、这是一个有难度的题目:请注意原句的for the rest of the twentieth century,如果选C(its dominant design form )语法上讲一点错误都没有。但是,在引入这个主流的设计的时候是1934年,不能说是its dominant design form ,用became使得逻辑意思更加合理。你体会一下。

2、这是一个小词的区别,在东方的题目上有一个类似的题目。你自己查一下字典就知道了。如果你还记得那部美国大片《天地大冲撞》的英文,这个题目应该不会错。

3、如果用C,whose emotional language language that diminishes the cogency of her arguments 这个从句的谓语没有。这个答案第一步就要丢。

4、省略的前提是主句主语和谓语和从句的主语和谓语完全相同,但是这个句子的主句的主语是形式主语。

5、considering这里是介词=In view of;
给你举个例子You managed the project well, considering your inexperience.

6、这个题目考的是虚拟语气如果用suggest,我想你会选E

第六题,请教 :

ADVOCATE的虚拟是不是只能虚拟到parents discipline male children ,可不能虚拟到parents discipline male children as they discipline ?

第一题难,我不会。

谢谢。

1、单纯考逻辑意思的合理性。因为从1934年到the rest of the twentieth century并不是同一时间概念,用became突出了这一个变化。

6、考点:虚拟+并列+省略
Popular child psychologists have advocated that parents discipline male children as they would(discipline ) daughters。

1,同意 lewis的观点,its指代tank逻辑不对

Question 2 seems interesting. The usage of the word impact has long been a disputable topic, for which one can find in the American Heritage Dictionary a detailed explanation. According to the dictionary, "the particular pretentiousness associated with the verbal use of impact is caused by its derivation from an already questionable metaphoric use of the noun impact, as in phrases such as the political impact of the decision or the impact of the program on the community, in which no more is usually meant than might have been expressed by effects or consequences." But clearly "it has by now become so common in corporate and institutional contexts that younger speakers appear to regard it as wholly standard and straightforward usage." It is too late for complaints to prevent the establishment of this use.
